Step into the vibrant world of Made In Dagenham the Musical, a powerfully heartwarming and hilarious journey of love, laughter, tears and triumph.
Inspired by real events, this sensational musical comedy follows the remarkable journey of Rita O'Grady, a factory worker turned women's rights champion, in her quest for equal pay in the male-dominated world of the late 1960s. A fearless leader, Rita rallies her fellow female factory workers when they face reclassification as unskilled labourers while their male colleagues receive wage increases.
Fuelled by determination and a burning desire for justice, Rita and her comrades take a bold stand, voting unanimously to strike. Their fight for equality, however, faces hurdles when their American bosses lay off thousands of men, including Rita's husband, Eddie. Witness the cracks in their solidarity and the inspiring journey as they navigate the turbulent waters of change.
With music by composer David Arnold and lyricist Richard Thomas, the musical score delivers a sensational soundtrack to remember with a breathtaking blend of heartfelt ballads, toe-tapping anthems, feel-good hooks and thought-provoking solos. Together with scriptwriter Richard Bean, the original creative team masterfully blend humour, friendship and courage into a compelling narrative and incredible show.
