CREATIVE TEAM

It has been a pleasure to join ROS on the journey to bringing Bonnie and Clyde to the Winston Churchill Theatre this October. Having directed several NODA award winning shows locally it is great to direct for a new and very talented group, bringing a brand new show to our local audience. Bonnie and Clyde is a challenging show to direct as it is very fast paced and moves scenes so quickly. It is also a very challenging show vocally with an array of gospel, blues, jazz and rock style numbers as well as being at times quite a dark subject matter, interspersed with some moments of light and comedy. Working with ROS has been a joy, with cast always eager to get into scenes, and so quick to understand the vision and run with it. I hope you enjoy the story of Bonnie and Clyde and appreciate the hard work these actors and actresses have given to make it come alive.

Charlotte first joined ROS at the age of 16, performing in many musicals. Charlotte then went to University, where she received an undergraduate degree from the prestigious Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and later a Masters’ Degree in The Practice of Voice & Singing from Guildford School of Acting. Upon returning from University, it wasn’t long before Charlotte began directing and choreographing, working on various shows including multiple of ROS’s Best of Broadway productions and the smash hit musical Oliver! With music and live performance running through her veins, Charlotte now works as a professional vocal and piano coach. Charlotte’s work as a musical director and teacher has seen her work with various companies across London, the home counties and abroad. Her recent Musical Direction work includes Little Shop of Horrors at The Marylebone Theatre and Sweet Charity at The Elgiva in Chesham with Panda Players. Some of Charlotte’s other credits include Bugsy Malone, Honk!, Hairspray, Footloose and High School Musical.

ABOUT THE SHOW

Set to a backdrop of 1930s America, this powerful musical follows the journey of two young lovers whose thirst for excitement and fame lead them on a perilous path to infamy and media stardom. In amongst the thick of the Great Depression, Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow made shockwaves across the nation as together they blazed a trail of crime across the American heartland.

Fuelled by love, ambition and desperation, their tale is a blend of thrilling escapades, deep romance and the relentless pursuit of the American Dream - albeit through an unlawful route. This compelling musical delves into their love story, exploring the motivations and emotions that drove them to a life of crime.

From beautiful ballads, to high octane anthems, composer Frank Wildhorn and lyricist Don Black masterfully fuse together rock, pop, blues and gospel to create a powerfully dynamic soundtrack which perfectly captures the action, intensity and emotion of the book by Ivan Menchell

Bonnie & Clyde the Musical is playing at the Winston Churchill Theatre (Ruislip, London) on 2nd to 5th October 2024Click here to book your tickets.
